Our Bond of Union: A Commentary on the Book of Church Order of the Presbyterian Church in America
Author: C. S. Per Almquist - PCA

Morton H. Smith wrote his Commentary on the Book of Church Order of the Presbyterian Church in America in 1990, with the last update in 2007. There have been many changes and amendments to the Book of Church Order since.

Skillfully weaving Smith’s past work with that of other historians and authors into his own thorough study, Per Almquist has written Our Bond of Union: A Commentary on the Book of Church Order of the Presbyterian Church in America not only as a current summary of PCA government in the last decades but also as an investigation into the past to benefit future generations.

The PCA’s Book of Church Order is vital to the well-functioning of the courts of the Presbyterian Church in America. For that reason, we may be grateful to Per Almquist for a well-written, well-researched, and instructive commentary on the BCO. This volume will be an invaluable resource to help readers grow in their understanding and appreciation of the government, polity, and worship of the PCA.
– Guy Prentiss Waters, Ph.D., James M. Baird, Jr. Professor of New Testament, Academic Dean, Reformed Theological Seminary
